MONTGOMERY MOVES TO BALTIMORE

The Baltimore Ravens acquired running back Ty Montgomery from the Green Bay Packers for a seventh-round draft pick in 2020.

What does it give the Baltimore Ravens
This is a solid move for the Ravens, who needed some depth behind quality starting running back Alex Collins. Montgomery should become the team's third-down back and will likely play on passing downs. He can also return kicks and broke into the NFL as a wide receiver, so his versatility should also serve the Ravens well.

What does it give the Green Bay Packers
For the Packers, moving Montgomery alleviates the logjam that the team had at the running back position, and they will move forward with Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams at that position. Green Bay did not receive a lot in return for Montgomery's services, as the seventh rounder included in this deal is for the 2020 NFL Draft.

Fantasy impact
Montgomery's fantasy value should get a spike following the trade, as he will likely have a specific role on passing downs in Baltimore. He is a good player to gamble on down the stretch in most fantasy formats. Jones and Williams are also winners after this move, while Javorius "Buck" Allen could lose some playing time with the Ravens with Montgomery now in tow.
