CARDINALS GET GILBERT

The Arizona Cardinals acquired offensive tackle Marcus Gilbert from the Pittsburgh Steelers for a sixth-round draft pick in 2019.

What does it give the Arizona Cardinals
While Gilbert will not be the splashiest acquisition for the Cardinals this off-season (Arizona holds the No. 1 overall pick in the '19 NFL Draft), he should be among the most important. Projected to play right tackle, he should provide far better pass protection along the offensive line (for whomever is the starting quarterback in Arizona next season).

What does it give the Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers decided to move on from the 31-year-old veteran right tackle (Gilbert spent 8 seasons with the Black & Gold), rather than keep him as he enters the final year of his contract. In return, Pittsburgh gets a sixth rounder (Pittsburgh also has two other picks that round this year), which is projected to be the 209th overall selection.

Fantasy impact
Gilbert should help Arizona's offense but his arrival should not change much in terms of the fantasy values of running back David Johnson and wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. The Cardinals still have to figure out their quarterback situation.
