BROWNS, CHIEFS SWAP DEFENDERS
The Cleveland Browns acquired safety Eric Murray from the Kansas City Chiefs for defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah.
What does it give the Cleveland Browns
In Murray, the Browns get a 25-year-old safety with some untapped potential. He started nine games for Kansas City last season and recorded one interception. He will replace Derrick Kindred in Cleveland, as the latter was waived following Murray's acquisition. Cleveland no longer needed Ogbah after acquiring Olivier Vernon from the Giants earlier in the off-season.
What does it give the Kansas City Chiefs
After the Chiefs landed veteran safety Tyrann Mathieu via free agency, they felt comfortable enough at the position to eventually ship out Murray. In Ogbah, Kansas City gets a decent defensive end who will help the team as they transition from a 3-4 to a 4-3 base defense. Ogbah will compete for snaps with Alex Okafor, Breeland Speaks and Tanoh Kpassagnon.
Fantasy impact
Both Murray and Ogbah are on the fringe in terms of fantasy value in IDP leagues heading into 2019. Neither should be more than a late-round flier in very deep leagues.
