TEXANS TRADE FOR TIGHT END IZZO

The Houston Texans acquired tight end Ryan Izzo from the New England Patriots for a seventh-round draft pick in 2022.

What does it give the Houston Texans
In the 25-year-old Izzo, the Texans land a decent blocking tight end with limited pass-catching skills. He will likely move to the top of the depth chart in Houston, ahead of both Jordan Akins and Pharaoh Brown (although both provide greater receiving skills).

What does it give the New England Patriots
The Patriots had no use for Izzo any longer after acquiring both Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry via free agency (and they also drafted Devin Asiasi and Dalton Keene in the third round in 2020). Therefore, New England will take back a seventh-rounder here.

Fantasy impact
Izzo is not going to get a lot of targets in this (or any) offense, so he should not be a fantasy tight end option in virtually all leagues this season. Pass.
