'HAWKS & EAGLES TRADE D-LINEMEN

The Seattle Seahawks acquired defensive end Chris Clemons and a 2010 fourth-round draft pick from the Philadelphia Eagles for defensive end Darryl Tapp.

What does it give the Seattle Seahawks
Tapp's role had tailed off the past couple of seasons; so essentially, the Seahawks get a pass-rushing specialist in Clemons who's more used to a backup role than Tapp was. Adding a solid draft pick in the bargain is also a nice move.

What does it give the Philadelphia Eagles
Back in 2006 Tapp was a second-round draft pick (No. 63 overall by the Seahawks) so in terms of raw talent the Eagles may be getting an upgrade here. He also picks up the run much more frequently than Clemons, so can likely be used more as a starter than Clemons was.
