SEAHAWKS SNAG ANDREWS FROM EAGLES

The Seattle Seahawks acquired offensive guard / tackle Stacy Andrews from the Philadelphia Eagles for a 2011 conditional draft pick.

What does it give the Seattle Seahawks
The Eagles look ready to run the ball a lot in 2010 and Andrews is a nice fit for that approach. Moreover, he could enjoy a solid bounce-back campaign for Seattle if he plays more tackle than guard (which he prefers, and which wasn't the case in Philly). With rookie starting left tackle Russell Okung dealing lately with a sprained ankle, Andrews has the ability to step up and fill in immediately.

What does it give the Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles recently signed Reggie Wells to play on their offensive line, making the expensive and disappointing Andrews expendable. Andrews inked a six-year, $38.9 Million deal with the Eagles before last season but didn't pan out in Philly (playing guard instead of his more familiar tackle). The pick isn't great return for a quality player such as Andrews but the key here for the Eagles is saving salary.
