MIKE HUGHES HEADS TO KC

The Kansas City Chiefs acquired cornerback Mike Hughes and a seventh-round draft pick in 2022 from the Minnesota Vikings for a conditional sixth-round draft pick in 2022.

What does it give the Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs get more cornerback depth here, and Hughes is still only 24 years old so there is time for him to fulfill his potential. That said, he might struggle to make the final roster after training camp on a team with Super Bowl aspirations.

What does it give the Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings made Hughes their first-round selection (30th overall) in 2018, so obviously they misfired on that pick. They got back very little in return for his services but the club was clearly ready to move on. So, they took what they could get for him.

Fantasy impact
There is no fantasy impact here, as Hughes is likely to play a depth role with the Chiefs in 2021 (assuming he makes the team).
