ARIZONA ADDS TE ERTZ

The Arizona Cardinals acquired tight end Zach Ertz from the Philadelphia Eagles for cornerback Tay Gowan and a fifth-round draft pick in 2022.

What does it give the Arizona Cardinals
For the Cardinals, adding Ertz makes sense because of the recent injury to No. 1 tight end Maxx Williams. Ertz should take over as the top tight end in Arizona for as long as Williams is sidelined. This is a good deal for the only unbeaten team left in the NFL this season.

What does it give the Philadelphia Eagles
For the Eagles, moving Ertz was an inevitability for some time now, mostly due to the emergence of Dallas Goedert as the team's starting tight end. Gowan is a serviceable cornerback who will add depth to Philadelphia's secondary.

Fantasy impact
Ertz should see his fantasy value spike after the move to Arizona, a much better offensive team than Philly. If by any chance Ertz is still available, he should be picked up in virtually all league formats. Gowan will not move the needle in IDP leagues, since he will likely serve a backup role in Philly.
