DEION JONES JETTISONED TO CLEVELAND

The Cleveland Browns acquired linebacker Deion Jones and a seventh-round draft pick in 2024 from the Atlanta Falcons for a sixth-round draft pick in 2024.

What does it give the Cleveland Browns
Jones is a quality linebacker who was a victim of a scheme change in Atlanta this season. He is probably at his best as a middle linebacker in a 4-3 scheme but could provide depth at all three linebacker positions in Cleveland this season.

What does it give the Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons were rumored to be shopping Jones for most of the summer, so they were finally able to find a taker for his services after the start of the regular season. Atlanta's defensive system this year does not play to Jones' strengths, hence the trade.

Fantasy impact
If Jones starts to see regular snaps, he could be a decent source of tackles with the Browns. That said, he is not a recommended fantasy option in IDP leagues at this time.
