SHAQ MASON MOVED TO HOUSTON

The Houston Texans acquired offensive guard Shaq Mason and a seventh-round draft pick in 2023 (No. 230 overall) from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a sixth-round draft pick in 2023 (No. 179 overall).

What does it give the Houston Texans
The Texans have young Kenyon Green and veteran A.J. Cann at guard, but Mason is expected to replace the latter in 2023. One of them could be shifted to center, too. Either way, this move helps a young Houston roster.

What does it give the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Buccaneers have issues with the salary cap, so trading Mason for whatever they could get makes sense. In this case, Tampa Bay received a one-round draft upgrade from Houston. Not terrible for a salary dump.
