GILMORE GOES TO DALLAS
The Dallas Cowboys acquired cornerback Stephon Gilmore from the Indianapolis Colts for a fifth-round draft pick in 2023 (No. 176 overall).
What does it give the Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys had been looking for a cornerback to play with greater consistency opposite Trevon Diggs. Enter veteran Gilmore, who should form an excellent tandem with the former on the boundaries in Dallas.
What does it give the Indianapolis Colts
The Colts are in a bit of a reset with a new regime, so it makes sense to see them ship out one of their most experienced players in Gilmore. They are not getting much in return, as the pick involved is a late fifth-rounder.
Fantasy impact
Gilmore is a true shutdown cornerback, but Diggs is the fantasy asset along the Dallas corners. Therefore, while Diggs should be selected in many IDP leagues, Gilmore can be safely ignored.
