GREGORY GOES TO THE BAY AREA

The San Francisco 49ers acquired defensive end/linebacker Randy Gregory and a seventh-round draft pick in 2024 from the Denver Broncos for a sixth-round draft pick in 2024.

What does it give the San Francisco 49ers
In Gregory, the 49ers add another quality pass rusher for their defensive line rotation. He may be used more situationally in San Francisco than was the case in Denver.

What does it give the Denver Broncos
The Broncos have edge rushers with more youth on their side than Gregory, which explains their decision to trade the latter. Still, it is a questionable move for a struggling defense.

Fantasy impact
Gregory might have some value in very deep IDP leagues, and he could make an excellent 49ers defense even better.
