49ERS GET CHASE YOUNG

The San Francisco 49ers acquired defensive end Chase Young from the Washington Commanders for a third-round draft pick in 2024.

What does it give the San Francisco 49ers
Young joins an already scary defence making the 49ers even less of a treat to face for any offence. Young and Bosa should form one of the most dominant pass rush tandems in the entire NFL. If this defence can stay healthy this deal should give defensive coordinator Steve Wilks plenty of options to pressure the quarterback. Even after three straight losses San Francisco is showing they still believe that they are Super Bowl Contenders.

What does it give the Washington Commanders
Young is the second pass rusher the Commanders have traded away at the deadline. Similar to the Sweat situation Young is will become a free agent at the end of the season. With the addition of another draft pick in rounds 1-3 the Commanders will be looking to hit on these added picks and turn their team into a contender quickly.

Fantasy impact
This improves Young's IDP and the 49ers team defence as a group. Both should see their sack totals rise after this deal.
