DIONTAE JOHNSON FOR DONTE JACKSON

The Carolina Panthers acquired wide receiver Diontae Johnson and a seventh-round draft pick in 2024 (No. 240 overall) from the Pittsburgh Steelers for cornerback Donte Jackson and a sixth-round draft pick in 2024 (No. 178 overall).

What does it give the Carolina Panthers
This trade makes sense for all parties involved. Carolina needs weapons for second-year quarterback Bryce Young, so Johnson should be a nice addition to the Panthers' wide receiver corps. Johnson essentially replaces DJ Moore (traded last year).

What does it give the Pittsburgh Steelers
For the Steelers, getting Jackson fills their need for a solid cornerback opposite Joey Porter Jr. Jackson replaces veteran Patrick Peterson, who is currently a free agent. Look for Pittsburgh to go shopping for wide receivers with Johnson gone.

Fantasy impact
Johnson's fantasy stock could rise moving from the Steelers to the Panthers IF (and it is a fairly big if) Young breaks out in 2024. Draft him in the later rounds and hope for the best! Jackson is not a great IDP option (he is a better football player in reality than in fantasy football).
