JETS ADD ADAMS TO THEIR WR GROUP
The New York Jets acquired wide receiver Davante Adams from the Las Vegas Raiders for a conditional third-round draft pick in 2025.
What does it give the New York Jets
The Jets have been rumored to be interested in Adams ever since Aaron Rodgers became a member of the franchise. Adams will help because of his obvious chemistry with Rodgers, and he has sure hands (drops have been an issue for New York so far this season). Adams joins Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard and Mike Williams in a stacked wide receiver room.
What does it give the Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders look like a team ready to throw in the towel on the 2024 campaign, largely because of their struggles under center. Neither Gardner Minshew nor Aidan O'Connell is the answer at quarterback, so keeping a disgruntled Adams made no sense. The third-round draft pick acquired here could become a second-round selection, so not all is lost for Las Vegas.
Fantasy impact
Adams' fantasy stock has improved by going to the Jets, but he is likely to be their No. 2 wideout behind the emerging Wilson. Still, catching balls from Rodgers is a clear upgrade for Adams' fantasy fortunes.
