JOE FLACCO JOINS THE BENGALS

The Cincinnati Bengals acquired quarterback Joe Flacco and a sixth-round draft pick in 2026 from the Cleveland Browns for a fifth-round draft pick in 2026.

What does it give the Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals could not afford to keep going in the same direction at quarterback. Jake Browning has struggled far more than expected in the absence of Joe Burrow, so enter grizzled veteran Flacco. While the latter is an upgrade, he will also throw interceptions–which was a big issue with Browning this season. Flacco is a better passer, so he should help Cincy.

What does it give the Cleveland Browns
The Browns decided to help their cross-state rivals here, which is a bit questionable since the AFC Central division is wide open this season. That said, Cleveland is anxious to see what rookie quarterbacks Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders can do. So, they accepted a one-pick draft upgrade to move on from Flacco. The next Browns-Bengals game should be fun!

Fantasy impact
Flacco can be picked up if available in some leagues and is a mediocre starting option in multiple QB or QB-flex leagues. He is also a good pickup for Burrow owners who were forced to play Browning these last few weeks. That said, how much gas does Flacco have left in the tank?
