GAINES HEADS TO BEARS

The Chicago Bears acquired defensive end Gaines Adams from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for second-round pick in the 2010 draft.

What does it give the Chicago Bears
Adams is still a somewhat raw talent with a lot of untapped potential. He doesn't project as a starter in Chicago soon (with Adewale Ogunleye and Alex Brown still around) but with Chicago's defensive core aging, he's a nice youth and depth add for their defensive end rotation.

What does it give the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Adams never quite got on track in Tampa after being selected by the Bucs with the No.4 overall pick of the 2007 NFL Draft. He didn't get things going under two consecutive Bucs regimes, so Tampa Bay appears to moving on, while getting a solid pick for 2010.
