PACMAN A COWBOY

The Dallas Cowboys acquired defensive back Pacman Jones from the Tennessee Titans for a 2008 fourth-round draft pick in 2009.

What does it give the Dallas Cowboys
If Pacman plays, the Cowboys get one of the NFL's elite cornerbacks and elite return men. Of course, the 'if' part is significant; the Nashville Tennessean reports that Dallas will also need to cough up a sixth-rounder in 2009 if Pacman becomes eligible to play in 16 games in 2008. So it's clear that Pacman being allowed back for a full season (after being suspended for all of last season) is not a done deal. This is obviously a risky move by Dallas (especially considering Jones' reputation for getting into trouble) but it's one with a potentially huge payoff. Jones is a candidate to start for the Cowboys if he's fully reinstated by the league, although Dallas already has two excellent starters at the corners in Terence Newman and Anthony Henry.

What does it give the Tennessee Titans
Obviously the Titans aren't likely going to get a player with as much talent as Pacman with the fourth-rounder and the potential 2009 sixth-rounder. But they do rid themselves of a lot of negative press. The team played well last season despite Pacman being out due to suspension, so they seem to have already moved on.
