BROWNS LAND TAILBACK LEWIS FOR 'BACKER ACHO

The Cleveland Browns acquired running back Dion Lewis from the Philadelphia Eagles for linebacker Emmanuel Acho.

What does it give the Cleveland Browns
The Browns have a rising star in lead back {P Trent Richardson} but considering his history of injury and off-field concerns, adding a little depth to their running back group with Lewis isn't a bad move. He may not be a regular for them anytime soon, but Lewis has some talent and a change of scenery might help him establish himself. In limited NFL action Lewis has actually performed fairly well (at 4.8 yards per carry over 24 career NFL games), so he's a solid sleeper add here. The unproven Acho became expendable with the recent signing of {P Quentin Groves}.

What does it give the Philadelphia Eagles
Acho is potentially a very productive tackler, so he's a strong depth / insurance addition for the Eagles here. Philly has two potential No. 1 tailbacks in {P LeSean McCoy} and {P Bryce Brown}, so the less-proven Lewis became the odd man out. Down the road this deal could prove to be a steal for the Eagles, as Acho has solid sleeper appeal if he can stay healthy.

Fantasy impact
Neither of these two players is projected for a big role anytime early in the 2013 season (since each has more than one player ahead of him on his new team), so neither will likely see his playing time affected much. That said, keep an eye on both longer term; Lewis may get a chance to earn a more regular role with the Browns than he did with the Eagles, and Acho has the talent to eventually be a regular (again, if he can stay on the field).
