RAVENS GET CENTER SHIPLEY FROM INDY
The Baltimore Ravens acquired center A.Q. Shipley from the Indianapolis Colts for a conditional draft pick in 2014.
What does it give the Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens needed some help at center following {P Matt Birk}'s retirement, so adding Shipley is a good move at this time. He is expected to compete with {P Gino Gradkowski} for the starting job in Baltimore.
What does it give the Indianapolis Colts
The Colts will continue to roll with {P Samson Satele} as their starting center and felt comfortable parting ways with backup Shipley at this time. They'll receive a draft pick as compensation but lose a little depth.
Fantasy impact
The center position isn't fantasy-worthy per se but adding Shipley could help stabilize things along Baltimore's offensive line. That will help {P Joe Flacco}, {R Ray Rice} and the rest of the Baltimore offense.
