BILLS TAKE A CHANCE ON WR MIKE WILLIAMS

The Buffalo Bills acquired wide receiver Mike Williams from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a sixth-round draft pick in 2014.

What does it give the Buffalo Bills
The Bills have never been afraid of taking risks on players, so it's no surprise they went after Williams here. Still only 26, Williams was born in Buffalo and played college football at Syracuse under Bills head coach {B Doug Marrone}, so there are a lot of logical reasons to take a flyer on this very talented wideout. He could instantly become the team's top wide receiver in 2014, and gives Buffalo an impressive group at the position.

What does it give the Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Buccaneers grew tired of Williams' checkered off-field behavior, so they did well here to land a sixth rounder. After all, Williams was a candidate to be released due to his transgressions. So, Tampa Bay will view the pick acquired for him as a bonus. That said, now that Williams is gone, a new starter must emerge opposite {P Vincent Jackson}.

Fantasy impact
Williams could see a spike in fantasy value, since he leaves Tampa Bay's projected run-heavy offense for a more explosive squad led by second-year quarterback {P EJ Manuel}. Without Williams on the opposite flank, Jackson's value may see a bit of a dip here. Also, one of {P Louis Murphy}, {P Eric Page} or {P Chris Owusu} could emerge as a fantasy option if they win the No. 2 job opposite Jackson, though Tampa may decide to pick up a new No. 2 WR either through free agency or the draft.
