SEAHAWKS SECURE QB DEPTH WITH PRYOR

The Seattle Seahawks acquired quarterback Terrelle Pryor from the Oakland Raiders for a 7th-round draft pick in 2014.

What does it give the Seattle Seahawks
This is an interesting trade for the defending Super Bowl champs, if not a necessary one. They already have their young franchise QB in place with {P Russell Wilson}, so adding another gifted quarterback prospect doesn't make a lot of sense on paper. Then again, Pryor doesn't necessarily have to play under center; he has the athleticism to be a wide receiver, and could give the Seahawks some nice wrinkles in option / Wildcat-type setups. He also isn't expensive, so this is a nice low-risk move for Seattle.

What does it give the Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders have spent considerable amounts of cash this off-season trying to overhaul their core, and that includes their acquisition of veteran QB {P Matt Schaub} to be their new starter. Top Schaub backup {P Matthew McGloin} was already ahead of Pryor on the depth chart, so Oakland essentially avoids some headaches and quarterback controversies by moving the exciting young Pryor. They might regret it a few years from now, but it seems the Raiders are focused on winning with vets.

Fantasy impact
Pryor will have little to no fantasy value playing for the Seahawks, unless they convert him to wide receiver or {P Russell Wilson} gets injured. Expect Pryor to compete with usual top backup {P Tarvaris Jackson} for snaps behind Wilson. In Oakland this trade gives {P Matthew McGloin} a small boost in sleeper value, since Schaub may not have much left in the tank and McGloin no longer has Pryor around to compete with.
