BRONCOS LAND MARK SANCHEZ FOR QB DEPTH

The Denver Broncos acquired quarterback Mark Sanchez from the Philadelphia Eagles for a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2017.

What does it give the Denver Broncos
Since winning the Super Bowl, the Broncos have seen Peyton Manning retire and Brock Osweiler leave as a free agent to the Houston Texans. Therefore, they need quarterback help. Enter Sanchez, who is not expected to start for Denver but is capable of doing the job in a pinch (72 career regular-season starts in the NFL).

What does it give the Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles had no use for Sanchez any longer after re-signing Sam Bradford to be their starter and landing quality backup Chase Daniel as a free agent. Therefore, they decided to move Sanchez for anything they could get (which in the end isn't likely to be much at all). This was clearly a (shrewd) salary dump by the Eagles.

Fantasy impact
Moving from Philadelphia, where he was scheduled to be the third-string quarterback, to the defending Super Bowl champions could be a major coup for Sanchez's dwindling fantasy value. However, he must first win the starting job (which is unlikely, since the Broncos are expected to bring in another QB).
