CHIEFS ADD CB DEPTH WITH ACKER

The Kansas City Chiefs acquired cornerback Kenneth Acker from the San Francisco 49ers for a seventh-round draft pick in 2018.

What does it give the Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs needed a little cornerback depth, so adding Acker made a little sense. However, the second-year pro is not a lock to crack the Week 1 roster. If he does play for KC this season, it will be in a backup role.

What does it give the San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers used Acker a lot as a rookie last season but felt comfortable with their 2016 depth on the corners (Tramaine Brock, Jimmie Ward, Dontae Johnson et al), Therefore, they shipped him out for a late pick.

Fantasy impact
Acker does not have much fantasy value because he will be used in nickel and dime packages in Kansas City (if he even makes the final roster).
