CHIEFS BOOST O-LINE
The Kansas City Chiefs acquired offensive linemen Ike Ndukwe and Andy Alleman from the Miami Dolphins for an undisclosed 2010 draft pick.
What does it give the Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs are making a move from a run-heavy offense to a pass-heavy one, and Alleman and Ndukwe can provided needed depth. Both are solid guards with starting experience, and Alleman has some versatility (in that he also plays some center).
What does it give the Miami Dolphins
Miami signed Jake Grove and Joe Berger this off-season and so had a bit of a glut on the interior line, making Alleman and Ndukwe expendable. The draft pick is at least some compesation for two solid players that might otherwise have been let go.
