CAPS ACQUIRE MUSCLE FOR TOUGH EAST

The Washington Capitals acquired winger D.J. King from the St. Louis Blues for winger Stefan Della Rovere.

What does it give the Washington Capitals
A bonafide, top-of-the-class NHL heavyweight, King has what it takes to protect his new and talented Washington teammates. Injuries (shoulder, hand) slowed him down the past two seasons, limiting him to just 13 games, but he now looks healthy and ready to battle the East's tough guys such as Derek Boogaard, Eric Godard and Colton Orr.

What does it give the St. Louis Blues
A member of Team Canada's junior team in the last two years, Delle Rovere is a seventh-round draft choice that has already overachieved in his young hockey career. Not particularly big or exceptionally talented, he'll fit the role of lower-line agitator if he attains the NHL.
