KINGS, LIGHTNING SWAP TWO
The Los Angeles Kings acquired goaltender Peter Budaj from the Tampa Bay Lightning for forward Andy Andreoff.
What does it give the Los Angeles Kings
This is a reunion of sorts for Budaj and the Kings, as the veteran netminder was with the Los Angeles organization for all of 2015-16 and most and most of 2016-17 (before he was traded to Tampa Bay). The plan is for Budaj to back up Cal Petersen in the AHL in 2018-19.
What does it give the Tampa Bay Lightning
Andreoff is a decent fourth-line forward option for the Lightning, especially because he can play both wing and center. That said, the Bolts have younger, more talented options to round out their roster in 2018-19, so Andreoff might be bound for the American Hockey League.
Fantasy impact
There is zero fantasy impact after this trade, as both Budaj and Andreoff could spend the majority of 2018-19 in the minors.
