PERROTT TO DALLAS

Dallas Stars acquired right wing Nathan Perrott from the Toronto Maple Leafs for a sixth-round draft pick in 2006.

What does it give the Dallas Stars
Perrott will add more muscle and toughness to the Stars lineup, and should essentially replace Aaron Downey--who signed with the St. Louis Blues in the off-season. Perrott won't play regularly, and will probably continue to be a healthy scratch in Dallas. However, he'll see more time in Toronto--where he was essentially No. 3 on the enforcer pecking order.

What does it give the Toronto Maple Leafs
The Leafs already boast Tie Domi and Wade Belak, so a third enforcer was not needed. In fact, Belak is no longer playing along the blueline, so the Leafs had three tough right-wingers prior to the trade. Considering how expendable Perrott was to the Leafs, adding a sixth rounder was a solid value acquisition.
