JETS ACQUIRE FEHR

The Winnipeg Jets acquired winger Eric Fehr from the Washington Capitals for winger Danick Paquette and a fourth-round draft pick in 2012.

What does it give the Winnipeg Jets
The Jets are targeting local players, and Fehr may become one of the best from Manitoba currently in the NHL. He's a good scorer who was buried in Washington. Look for him to establish himself as a top-six winger in Winnipeg, once he returns from shoulder surgery.

What does it give the Washington Capitals
The Capitals needed to rid themselves of some salary in order to fit Karl Alzner under the cap, so Fehr was an obvious trade target. Paquette will likely play in the AHL next season. He is a future agitator, while the fourth rounder may end up being a key piece.
