Janmark to Vegas

In a three-team trade, the Vegas Golden Knights acquired forward Mattias Janmark and a fifth-round draft pick in 2022 from the Chicago Blackhawks, and defenseman Nick DeSimone from the San Jose Sharks; Chicago acquired a second-round draft pick in 2021 and a third-round draft pick in 2022 from the Golden Knights; and San Jose acquired a fifth-round draft pick in 2022 from the Golden Knights.

What does it give the Vegas Golden Knights
The Golden Knights are really up against the salary cap this season, but they found a way to add more forward depth here with Janmark, who will likely play a third-line role in Vegas with potential special teams minutes. He is clearly a short-term pickup.

What does it give the Chicago Blackhawks
The Blackhawks made it publicly known recently that Janmark was going to be traded, so this move comes as no surprise to anyone. They did very well to get two high draft picks in this deal, since Janmark was likely going to walk this off-season. Good move, Chicago!

What does it give the
For the Sharks, this is the second deal that they were included in during this trade deadline period for salary retention purposes (San Jose also got involved in the Nick Foligno trade between Toronto and Columbus). Have salary cap space, will travel.

Fantasy impact
Janmark may not see a ton of quality ice time for the Golden Knights down the stretch, so he is probably not a great late-season pickup in most fantasy leagues. However, keep an eye on him. DeSimone is merely a contract that was dumped in this transaction. He does not have any fantasy value.
