GM Randy Sexton vowed to get tougher, and Roy is yet another step in the right direction. He's a useful defenseman that is best utilized on the bottom pairing of a defense corps. He should help the Panthers down the stretch.

Rust has some potential, but he'll remain a college prospect at this time. He is undersized but has offensive potential and plays the center position, which is a need position in Columbus. A good deal for the Jackets for role player like Roy.
