JOHANSSON JETTISONED BY SEATTLE

The Washington Capitals acquired forward Marcus Johansson from the Seattle Kraken for winger Daniel Sprong, a fourth-round draft pick in 2022 and a sixth-round draft pick in 2023.

What does it give the Washington Capitals
The Capitals know what they are getting in Johansson, who spent his first seven NHL seasons in D.C. He returns as a 31-year-old depth forward who should help the team as a bottom-six winger.

What does it give the Seattle Kraken
Sprong will get loads of ice time in Seattle because they have a crying need for players right now. This is his big opportunity to prove he can become a productive top-six wing in the NHL. It is now or never.

Fantasy impact
Johansson's stock should rise a little because he is going to a very familiar setting. Sprong's value may rise even more because there should not be anything stopping him from becoming a top-six winger in Seattle. Both are worth picking up at this time.
