DOMI DEALT TO DALLAS
The Dallas Stars acquired forward Max Domi and goaltender Dylan Wells from the Chicago Blackhawks for goaltender Anton Khudobin and a second-round draft pick in 2025.
What does it give the Dallas Stars
In Domi, the Stars add a versatile offensive forward with grit and creativity to his game. He is expected to play on the Tyler Seguin line, either with fellow newcomer Evgeni Dadonov or Mason Marchment on the opposite wing. Wells was included in this trade merely for roster count purposes.
What does it give the Chicago Blackhawks
The Blackhawks keep selling off their entire roster in one of the most complete stripdowns in recent memory. Khudobin has been toiling in the minors for all of 2022-23, but he might see time in the Windy City before the season ends. His relatively high cap number also helps Chicago to get to the floor this season.
Fantasy impact
Domi is probably going to see far less ice time in Dallas, since he was acting as Chicago's No. 1 center for most of '22-23. His stock may dip a bit after this deal. Khudobin is not recommendable as a fantasy goaltending option at this time, while Wells is a minor-league journeyman. Pass.
