Lazar is a solid depth player who could end up playing the role of 13th forward in New Jersey. He can play either center or wing, which adds value. Lazar has two more seasons left on his contract, but is very affordable.

The Canucks are retooling their roster in a big way this season, following an extremely disappointing campaign. Lazar is the latest player to move. Vancouver likes the return here, but they are not done tinkering with the roster.
