TAYLOR HALL OFF TO THE 'HAWKS

The Chicago Blackhawks acquired wingers Taylor Hall and Nick Foligno from the Boston Bruins for defensemen Alec Regula and Ian Mitchell.

What does it give the Chicago Blackhawks
In Hall, the Blackhawks are getting a proven top-six winger who will add a much-needed scoring boost to Chicago's forward group. Expect him to get a lot of ice time with soon-to-be number one pick Connor Bedard. As for Foligno, a pending UFA, he will add a veteran presence on a very young Chicago roster if he is re-signed.

What does it give the Boston Bruins
Boston gains much needed cap space by shipping off the $6 million/year contract that Hall has remaining for two more seasons. Expect the Bruins to use some of that space to try to re-sign winger Tyler Bertuzzi. Regula and Mitchell are both restricted free agents, so the B's have a decision to make with both players.

Fantasy impact
This should increase the fantasy values of both Bedard and Hall. Bedard was always a must-draft player with his superstar potential, and Hall now gives him a proven winger to play with. For Hall, he should be a top-six winger and top power-play member, but do not overrate him. Foligno, Mitchell and Regula have no fantasy value at present time.
