BORTUZZO HEADS TO LONG ISLAND

The New York Islanders acquired defenseman Robert Bortuzzo from the St. Louis Blues for a seventh-round draft pick in 2024.

What does it give the New York Islanders
Already missing Adam Pelech and Sebastian Aho to injuries, the Islanders will now be without Ryan Pulock for an extended period of time due to a lower-body ailment. Bortuzzo will provide veteran depth and physicality as a short-term replacement.

What does it give the St. Louis Blues
The Blues had a surplus of defensemen, so Bortuzzo was not seeing much ice time so far this season. By shipping him out, St. Louis will likely commit more playing time to the likes of Scott Perunovich and Tyler Tucker. Good decision by St. Louis.

Fantasy impact
There is no fantasy impact here, as Bortuzzo will continue to ply his trade as a defensive defenseman and penalty-killing option on Long Island.
