The San Jose Sharks acquired winger Klim Kostin from the Detroit Red Wings for defenseman Radim Simek and a seventh-round draft pick in 2024.
What does it give the San Jose Sharks
Kostin has bounced around the NHL, but hopefully he can find a home in San Jose. The Sharks need help at all positions, so this could be a perfect fit for both Kostin and the Sharks.
What does it give the Detroit Red Wings
Simek has been toiling in the AHL but he has NHL experience. He should be viewed as a depth acquisition for the Red Wings in their attempt to reach the Stanley Cup playoffs.
Fantasy impact
Kostin could be a sneaky sleeper down the stretch, especially if he is given top-six winger minutes. Pick him up if available in deeper formats. Simek has zero fantasy value.
