JEANNOT JETTISONED TO LA
The Los Angeles Kings acquired winger Tanner Jeannot from the Tampa Bay Lightning for a fourth-round draft pick in 2024 (No. 118 overall) and a second-round draft pick in 2025.
What does it give the Los Angeles Kings
The Kings hope Jeannot can return to something close to the player he was for Nashville. Last season, he scored seven goals and 14 points in 55 games. He may never reach the statistical level he did in his rookie season, but he may be a worthwhile investment if he rebounds and adds physicality to LA.
What does it give the Tampa Bay Lightning
The Lightning continue to clear cap space to re-sign or sign core pieces to their roster. They did not recuperate as many draft picks as they gave up for Jeannot, but getting a couple of draft selections for an organization that has not had many lately is a good starting point. This move is all about the salary cap.
Fantasy impact
Jeannot is not someone who should be drafted in most leagues, but keep a eye on how he starts the '24-25 season. If he returns to being an effective power forward, he could be worth a waiver addition, especially in fantasy leagues that value hits and penalty minutes.
