In Jenik, the Senators add a versatile forward who has had a few stints at the NHL level. He clearly needed a change of scenery, so this trade could help jump-start his fledgling NHL career.
What does it give the Utah Hockey Club
Sokolov wanted a new start, and was even pondering heading to the KHL. Instead, he will try to latch on with Utah, a team that likes player with Sokolov's size. He might make the team.
Fantasy impact
Keep an eye on both Jenik and Sokolov during training camp. Neither player needs to be drafted this year, but both might become options later on in '24-25 if either is in the NHL.
