The Anaheim Ducks acquired defenseman Oliver Kylington from the New York Islanders for future considerations.
What does it give the Anaheim Ducks
The Ducks recently traded Brian Dumoulin to New Jersey, so Kylington will replace Dumoulin as a solid depth defenseman. Anaheim has been moving up the standings but remains a long shot to earn a wild card berth in the Western Conference.
What does it give the New York Islanders
The Islanders were forced to take Kylington in the Brock Nelson deal, but they have a surplus of defenseman and did not need the Swedish blueliner. They may not get anything in return but were motivated to move on from Kylington.
