JOKIHARJU JOINS THE BRUINS
The Boston Bruins acquired defenseman Henri Jokiharju from the Buffalo Sabres for a fourth-round draft pick in 2026.
What does it give the Boston Bruins
Jokiharju will provide the Bruins with depth on defense. Boston's blueline has been dealing with injuries all season, and they also traded Brandon Carlo on deadline day. Jokiharju, a good puck-mover, could now step into a bottom-four role, but he may also have to earn his playing time. He had managed 6 points in 42 games with the Sabres this season.
What does it give the Buffalo Sabres
The Sabres were sellers at the trade deadline. Jokiharju, on an expiring contract, was a likely candidate to be dealt. He has a good amount of NHL experience and is a serviceable defender, so Buffalo was able to bring in a fourth-round pick for him.
Fantasy impact
Jokiharju is not a factor in fantasy hockey, so this trade will not have an impact.
