JANKOWSKI JOINS THE HURRICANES

The Carolina Hurricanes acquired forward Mark Jankowski from the Nashville Predators for a fifth-round draft pick in 2026.

What does it give the Carolina Hurricanes
In Jankowski, the Hurricanes bring in a versatile depth forward. He can play center or the wing, and can kill penalties if called upon. The 30-year-old may have to earn a spot in Carolina's bottom six, but he is certainly a useful pickup for the final stretch and playoffs. Jankowski is under contract for the 2025-26 season as well.

What does it give the Nashville Predators
Jankowski had spent the past three seasons in Nashville, but he is now on the move as they sell at the trade deadline. The Predators were able to secure a modest fifth-round draft pick in return, as they look ahead and attempt to rebound from a disastrous 2024-25 season.

Fantasy impact
Jankowski does not produce enough offense to be rostered in nearly all fantasy formats. That is unlikely to change in Carolina, but keep an eye on him if they try the former first-round pick higher in the lineup.
