BRUINS ADD ZIMMERMAN

The Boston Bruins acquired defenseman Sean Zimmerman and a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2011 from the Florida Panthers for forwards Jeff LoVecchio and Jordan Knackstedt.

What does it give the Boston Bruins
Zimmerman adds depth to the AHL blueline for Boston. He has limited NHL upside but could be a stopgap measure if the injury bug hits.

What does it give the Florida Panthers
The Panthers are taking a flyer on Knackstadt and LoVecchio. They are likely to remain in the AHL for the time being, though.
