FLYERS ADD DEPTH WITH HUSKINS

The Philadelphia Flyers acquired defenseman Kent Huskins from the Detroit Red Wings for a conditional seventh-round draft pick in 2014.

What does it give the Philadelphia Flyers
The Flyers are depleted along their blueline this season, so they need all the help they can get here. Huskins is strictly a depth defenseman but he should be a decent stop-gap measure for Philly. He helps them because they don't have to dig too deeply down on the farm for rearguards.

What does it give the Detroit Red Wings
The Red Wings didn't have much use anymore for Huskins, since {P Carlo Colaiacovo} recently returned from injury and the club also inked promising NCAA free agent defenseman {P Danny DeKeyser}. So, they took a conditional draft pick here, which will likely turn into very little.

Fantasy impact
Huskins won't add much fantasy value now that he's no longer a Red Wing. He'll be used strictly in defensive situations during his time in Philadelphia.
