FAST TO ST. LOUIS

The St. Louis Blues acquired defenseman T.J. Fast from the Los Angeles Kings for a fifth-round draft pick in 2009.

What does it give the St. Louis Blues
The Blues are deep in defense prospects, but Fast gives them a little more depth. He's more of an offensive defenseman, which is something the Blues could use more of.

What does it give the Los Angeles Kings
The Kings are expected to select a defenseman with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, and should soon be well stocked with great young talent at the position. Therefore, there wasn't much room for Fast.
