BOOTLAND FOR KEITH

The Anaheim Ducks acquired winger Darryl Bootland from the New York Islanders for winger Matt Keith.

What does it give the Anaheim Ducks
In Bootland, the Ducks add yet another physical player for depth purposes. He appeared in four games with the Isles earlier in the season, but may not get the same opportunity with Anaheim because of his new organization's depth. Still, if anything happens to enforcer George Parros, Bootland could get the call.

What does it give the New York Islanders
Keith, the brother of Chicago defenseman Duncan Keith, will probably remain in the AHL for the foreseeable future. He doesn't have a lot of upside, but he does have more potential than Bootland. Keith's work ethic is synonymous with the Ted Nolan system currently deployed on Long Island.
