PREDS LAND DUPONT FOR THURESSON

The Nashville Predators acquired forward Brodie Dupont from the New York Rangers for winger Andreas Thuresson.

What does it give the Nashville Predators
Dupont is a rugged depth forward who may get an opportunity to land on Nashville's fourth line in 2011-12. He'll more likely shuttle back and forth between the NHL and AHL.

What does it give the New York Rangers
Thuresson spent the past four seasons in the Preds system, mostly with AHL Milwaukee. He's also played 25 NHL games. He's a defensive-minded forward who might win a job as a penalty-killer--one day.
