CAPS DEAL BOUCHARD FOR KUNDRATEK
The Washington Capitals acquired defenseman Tomas Kundratek from the New York Rangers for winger Francois Bouchard.
What does it give the Washington Capitals
Kundratek is a bit of a project defenseman. The Czech blueliner has plenty of all-around upside, but the 21-year-old is still far from a finished product. Still, he's a good gamble for the Caps at this time.
What does it give the New York Rangers
Bouchard was a tremendous scorer in junior hockey but that hasn't totally translated to the pro ranks (yet). Maybe a change of scenery will serve him well. The Rangers need more overall scoring, so this may help.
