What does it give the New York Rangers
In Hall, the Rangers have added a solid third-line winger for their bottom six up front. He'll kill penalties and provide a little more grit to the lineup. The Rangers also cleared a roster spot for Finnish center Jarkko Immonen by moving Moore. The Moore-Hall swap is excellent asset management by Rangers GM Glen Sather.

What does it give the Pittsburgh Penguins
Pivko has produced good numbers in the AHL, but needed a chance to prove his mettle at the highest level. Enter Pittsburgh, where he's expected to compete for a top-six forward role. Moore should earn a roster spot at center of either the third or fourth line, and will become a valuable penalty killer.

What does it give the
The Predators are clearing out veterans in order to give Alexander Radulov, Scottie Upshall and Jordin Tootoo regular ice time at right wing. That's why Hall was dealt a day after veteran Scott Walker was moved. Adding a third-round draft pick in 2007 from the Pens is merely a bonus, since Preds GM David Poile was simply looking to dump salary.
