PARROS TO ANAHEIM

The Anaheim Ducks acquired right wing George Parros and future considerations from the Colorado Avalanche for a second-round draft pick in 2007.

What does it give the Anaheim Ducks
After dealing Todd Fedoruk back to the Flyers, GM Brian Burke felt a little vulnerable in the muscle department. Therefore, he acquired Parros to serve as his new part-time enforcer. Look for the former King to become an instant fan favorite in Anaheim. However, don't expect Parros to see a lot of ice time with the first-place Ducks. He's in Anaheim to act as a deterrent. Burke also acquired the option to swap third-round draft picks in 2007 with Colorado in this deal.

What does it give the Colorado Avalanche
There wasn't a lot of room for Parros on the Avs, so GM Francois Giguere did the best he could to acquire future assets for his part-time enforcer. Parros was picked up off waivers following the injury to Brad May, who won't be back this season in all likelihood. As a result, expect Giguere to soon make another move to add more muscle.
